culture
unified negligenceCustoms passed through generations dictate the actions of many, often with little consideration from those carrying them. These traditions define the cultures we see in our world, both pleasant and vile.
While some of these traditions may have no direct negative impact to the world and its people, others perpetuate old misdeeds and inequalities. It may not be immediately apparent how the practice of these conventions affects those involved, due to the inherent trust many carry for their inherited and adopted cultures.
Many people are unified by their culture, but are also displeased by the disparity from other societies of the world. This has been the source of countless injustices throughout history.
It is often easier to follow imposed norms of the past than to derive motives for our actions from fundamental principles. This convenience, along with the comfort of manufactured nostalgia, leads many to violate the rights of others and may contribute to a great portion of the continued suffering in our world.
